About PATA

Paediatric-Adolescent Treatment Africa (PATA) is an action network of health providers and health facilities in sub-Saharan Africa. Our goal is to effect positive change in paediatric and adolescent HIV policy and service delivery on the frontline.

The PATA network offers a powerful platform for regional collaboration, capacity building and peer-to-peer exchange – closing gaps and building bridges for linking, learning and partnership in the paediatric-adolescent HIV response.PATA aims to achieve the following on the frontline of paediatric and adolescent HIV service delivery:

  • Build and support an engaged network of health providers, facilities and communities
  • Facilitate platforms for linking and learning to share knowledge and promising practices
  • Champion innovative and targeted paediatric and adolescent HIV service delivery models
  • Generate, collate and disseminate evidence and collaborate in joint advocacy initiatives and partnerships

About PATA 2020 Summit

The PATA 2020 Summit, titled Breakthrough and Build Back together! is a collaborative forum that will bring together health providers and stakeholders united in a renewed call to action to accelerate efforts to end AIDS in children and adolescents. Below are some important considerations to ensure that the PATA 2020 summit is a space that is both inclusive and safe.


PATA reserve the right to suspend or cancel access, deny entry or restrict entry to the PATA 2020 summit events (virtual and physical) in the event and individual or their organization violates the PATA 2020 Summit code of conduct.

PATA 2020 Summit Code of Conduct

PATA 2020 summit is committed to creating and promoting a professional environment within which all summit participants can participate and feel supported in a safe community – treated with dignity and respect. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.

We strive to build a community for everyone, free from discrimination regardless of professional status, race, gender, identity and expression, sexual orientation, nationality, physical appearance, religion, age, and disability.

What constitutes violation of the code of conduct?

  • Issuing threats, or using any form of hate speech
  • Issuing offensive comments including negative stereotypical remarks disguised as humor or jokes
  • Unauthorized photography and videography of sessions (virtual and physical events)
  • Tracking online participation of participants and sharing their private information without consent
  • Misgendering of persons deliberately
  • All forms of sexual harassment
  • Not adhering to social distancing measures as stipulated by the WHO and host countries

When and where does the code of conduct apply

The code of conduct applies to all PATA 2020 summit events (virtual and physical), all social media platforms or any other fora relating to the summit both online and offline.


Audio, still photo and video recording by any device (e.g., cameras, laptops, PDAs, cell phones, watches) is strictly prohibited during the virtual and physical events, unless when prior permission is be obtained from PATA 2020 summit organisers.  PATA has obtained permission from all speakers and participants to record sessions for the purpose of documentation and reporting.

PATA 2020 summit secures all your personal information from unauthorized use and disclosure and will only utlise this information for PATA related communications and or   PATA 2020 summit may use your information to inform you about other events and activities happening in the HIV sector.
